A Few Things

1. Recently, an anonymous viewer pointed out that the quote I use as my title, "There is nothing better than a friend, unless it is a friend with chocolate," was not by Charles Dickens but by a woman named Linda Grayson. So thanks, whoever you are. The reason I had attributed it to Dickens is because when I first started this blog, I checked Goodreads for inspirational quotes. At the time, someone had written that the quote was by Dickens, not Grayson. After a bit of research, I found various webpages that also claimed Dickens had written that line, and so I wrote that it was his quote on the top of my blog. However, this just shows how widely spread this misconception is. I haven't read all of Dickens' books, and neither have most other people, so I had no idea whether or not he had written it. Could he have? Sure. Either way, it's a pretty great quote, and so it's staying as part of the title of my blog.

2. I won't be posting as often here due to the issue of my little sister who is always on the computer, as well as to other things. But I have taken up the task of being one of several authors of the Wordpress blog The Adorkable Timelord (my penname is theresonatinglight) simply because it is way more accessible from my DROID RAZR than Blogger is.

3. I DO, however, have a review coming up for you. The book is Ugly To Start With by John M. Cummings; I haven't had the chance to start it yet (due mostly to the restraints of my limited computer time), but I'm really looking forward to reading it.

So overall, though I am not going to be posting nearly as often, I still will occasionally.

4. By the way, my robotics team did really great this year. We ranked among the top 40 in the world!

Bookshelf Organizing Fail... x5

So in the past two months, I have attempted to reorganize my bookshelves a total of five times.

First attempt: This attempt was sort of half hearted-I kind of just put the books randomly on the shelves.

Second attempt: About a week after the first attempt, I realized that I actually had twice as many books as were on my shelves; they were all piled up next to my bed and in random places around my house! So yeah. I, again, just stuffed them on the shelves. In stacks. In front of the other books.

Third attempt: After a week and a half of ignoring the dismal state my bookshelves were in, I decided to totally reorganize them. By genre. Like, children's books on one shelf, series books on another, about fifteen Nancy Drew books on the next, then sci-fi, adult books, etc. Which wasn't the best idea because my books are unevenly distributed by subject and lots of them fit in more than one category.

Fourth attempt: Two days later, I realized the flaws with my previous method. Then, I decided I would just organize them by where they fit. Which worked great. For about two weeks.

Fifth attempt: Yeah, two weeks later, I went on a major book-buying spree and spent about eighty dollars on books from Barnes and Noble, various garage sales, and two resale shops. I bought a total of ten books. Which is pretty great, considering that maybe eight of them had never even been opened before... But anyways, I had to once again reorganize my bookshelves. Currently, they look quite neat. But I plan on buying more books over the summer, and I don't want to give up ANY of them, so...

Wish me luck.

Why I Have Been Neglecting This Blog

Also: Why I Suck

To start off, I am really really sorry. I feel like such an awful person for just abandoning this like that.

My List Of Reasons I Have Been Gone:

1. They say that sometimes "real life" gets in the way. That's sort of true in my case. But only if you stretch it. So let's break it down:

a. ROBOTICS. I love robotics. But it's very very time consuming. And as part of the non-tech sub-division (writing awards, writing letters, taking pictures, etc.), I guess I have to put a lot of myself into my work. So a lot of times, by the time I get home from school during the six week hell (not really. I love it.) that is the team's build season, it is around eight-thirty, and all I have energy to do is do homework.

b. That's another thing: homework. I have sort of a love-hate relationship with homework. I hate doing homework, but I spend hours on it every day, even when I really don't have to.

2. If you hadn't already noticed, I'm a bit of a workaholic. At any given time, I am most likely eating, sleeping, working, or procrastinating. So school and other things greatly decrease the amount of time I have for posting.

3. Every student at my school gets issued a Mac laptop at the beginning of the school year for educational usage. Obviously, students always find ways to use it for social purposes; my outlets were Google docs, which I used to communicate with my friends through, and Blogger. Unfortunately, around three months ago, Blogger was blocked because, I guess, they realized that too many kids were using it for non-educational purposes. So purely because I do all of my homework on my school laptop, I have not been going on Blogger.

My List Of Reasons To Start Blogging Again:

1. I really love ranting.

2. I tried to keep a journal but I completely failed.

3. I missed this.

To anybody who reads my blog: you're awesome.

To anybody who read my blog before this and continues reading it now: you are amazing. And also, I've kind of forgotten my formatting (plus, I'm typing this on my NEW PHONE that I got about a month ago, thr DROID RAZR. Yeah it's pretty cool.) so there will be a few changes.

Thanks. You guys rock. :)

HAVEN'T POSTED IN FOREVER.

Hey guys, I'm really really sorry that I haven't posted for like ("like" not because I'm a total airhead, but "like" because I don't even remember anymore D:) a week. TT^TT Yeah it's been a bit hectic, what with robotics and schoolwork and dance class. Oh, and by the way, I JUST PULLED 40 BOBBY PINS OUT OF MY HAIR FROM MY DANCE PERFORMANCE!! (And OM GUH, THEY HAD THE DRAGON DANCE THIS YEAR!!)

A pretty epical dragon dance picture. :D

An awful picture of my dance class...

Ugh, why is this picture even on the internet?? >_< Our flags are all at different angles... And most of us aren't even pointing our toes... And... And ew, my arm... D": Well I'm one of those people in that picture, but I assure you that we look far better than that when we're actually dancing. D: But that picture... XP Ugh. (And while I was searching for pictures of myself... I found this picture of professional cheerleaders... And they were really ugly... And out of shape... And... And... EW.)

Look at that girl's stomach. (And then look at her hair, too...) EW. XP

Like, I look better than that. (I apologize if you are that person in that picture. Really. I am so sorry that you look like an unnaturally fat banana with prematurely white hair and an already receding hairline and gold and purple pompoms (Mardi Gras?). Despite the fact that bananas don't have hair or arms in the first place... Really, her arms are the only pretty thing about her... Good for her. ) And that's not bragging; that woman is sort of (super) unfit and somewhat (extremely) unpleasant to look at. And though I am not the most beautiful person on the planet, I do believe that I am at least better looking than her. I'm sorry. It's the truth, though. D:>

But it's okay. Maybe the photographer just caught her on a really bad day. Like, the day after her period, during which she had a short bout of dementia and decided to bleach her hair white (after which, half of it fell out). Poor girl. I'm certainly glad that doesn't happen to me during my period. (And anyways, there's a terrible photo of me up there- it happens to everyone. Even though that wasn't a question of me being ugly or not, just positioning. Still. You don't deserve to be bashed. Although I do recommend that you start doing sit-ups more often...)

But all thoughts of ugly cheerleaders aside, I am truly, sincerely, awfully sorry that I have not posted at all this past week.
